Date Night for Julie and Heath

To our amazing friends and family,

I would like to organize a date night for Julie and Heath to get to spend some time together. They haven't had a chance to spend any quality time together in several months, without kids! So, I spoke to Julie about it (and our brother) and they think it is a good idea. I want to do it as soon as possible, and I was going to schedule a "rain date" in case Julie needed to stay with Collin for some reason. I wanted to get it scheduled asap while Collin is a little more stable than he has been (and this could change at any point).

I was thinking of having someone babysit the older two children overnight (possibly for two nights), and having someone (probably me) sit with Collin during the time they are away. I was thinking we could plan on someone taking the older two children for two nights (the entire weekend) so that they could have their date on one night, and the other night Heath could spend some quality time with Collin. He doesn't get to spend as much time with Collin as he would like because he spends so much time working and taking care of the older two children and the home front.

I already have a couple of people wanting to donate cash for me and I think I have someone lined up to watch the older two kids. I was thinking we could do a Friday or Saturday night, of course. I am not sure what date yet.

I was thinking I would ask people to donate cash, and I would go buy them a gift card for a movie or something, and dinner. I think it is really important that we buy them gift cards to a specific location, because otherwise those two "super parents" will use the money to pay for something for the kids or Collin's care! :) I was also thinking they could either spend the night at the Ronald McDonald House or home. It would be really fun if we could get them a downtown hotel room, but I doubt we can raise that much money. That's okay!

Kasey Susannah and Zack's spring break is the week of March 27th (I think, is this right?). I really do not want to wait that long, but we may have to. Then maybe we can do the date night on a Thursday and Friday night or something. We can figure it out, just let me know if you can help and I'll go from there!

Let me know what everyone thinks, and what ideas you have! If everyone throws down $5 we can make a great date night for Julie and Heath to refresh and rejuvenate their marriage (even though it is doing great, they still need time together). Thank you!
