Julie has several friends at Riley Hospital who are the parents of other Riley patients. These parents have formed a very strong support network for one another. Julie has gone through this process with two other Riley friends, and now they are all standing by her side. They are a truly amazing group of people, and I am so glad that they are there for Julie when the rest of us have to go to work or to bed!
One of the parents got some great news today! Julie's friend's daughter was able to finally go home today after being here since November. She was here because she was born with her intestines on the outside. She spent most of her life at Riley. She was able to get an intestinal transplant she needed, it was a success and they finally were able to go home today to Illinois. Hooray!
