Julie asked me to put up a post requesting that everyone light a candle in Collin's memory on his birthday, April 23rd (not honor because he has passed away).
We are having a celebration of life party that day as well. We thought that would be a nice way for everyone to celebrate his life with us on his birthday, even if you cannot attend the party.
Our family has started a new tradition whereby when we have family gatherings, we light a candle in memory of Collin. It helps us fill the void left by his absence. With such a close knit family, we have a lot of family dinners and such, and it was a little odd the first couple of times we sat down to dinner without Collin there. The candle helps us remember that he is gone but not forgotten.
