Julie's Teeth - Any ideas to Help Supermom?

Hello everyone:

As some of you may know, Julie has some serious teeth problems. Her mouth doesn't produce enough saliva, so her teeth are in really bad shape. Of course, being the super mom that she is, she keeps putting off getting them taken care of because she is taking such good care of Collin, Kasey Susannah, and Zack (with Heath, the super dad's help!) Her teeth are so bad that Collin's doctors actually told her yesterday that she needs to get them taken care of. She uses Oralgel constantly and they are really causing her a lot of pain. I really wish I could just pay to get her teeth fixed for her!

The other day, we finally got her to go to the oral surgeon to find out how much it will cost to get her teeth fixed. She will have to have some very extensive procedures done to fix them. This is part of the reason she has been putting it off - 1. because of the time she will be down with the surgeries, and 2. because of the cost. It is going to cost over $25,000.00 to fix her teeth. OMG!!

We have such an amazing support network of family and friends. You all seem so resourceful and creative, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how we can help Julie get her teeth fixed? Of course, the first problem of down time is going to be easy to fix (we just have to find a time when Collin is stable enough). The money is the real problem.

Of course, we do not want to ask for any more donations, you have all given so much (for that, we thank you!). I was hoping maybe someone knew of a program or something that might help. You are such a creative group of people, I was hoping someone could think of something! I just thought I would bring this problem to your attention and see what you all thought. Between Collin's medical bills and such, this poor family is just getting hit left and right. But, Julie and Heath are amazingly resilient and are putting their children's needs before their own, I am so proud of them! : )

Thanks!!

Love,

  1. I have no idea where you went but IU School of Dentistry or Wishard Dental Clinic might be a smaller bill. Also she may be eligible for Wishard Advantage which is a form of insurance. And there are organization that "swoop in" in times of crisis to help the family members of the affected person. I don't know of any off the top of my head, but it would be worth doing some researching!

  2. That's a huge problem you have there. I do hope that someone will be able to give an awesome suggestion that will help you fix her teeth. Does Julie dislike going to the dentist?
