Day 2

Today Collin's progress did not change a lot. He is still on dialysis around the clock. The good news is that he Cretan levels have dropped to 2.2. That is great. We haven't seen much swelling going down. Hardly any. His blood pressure went down overnight. They had to give him Dopamine to get it back up. This morning they tried to ween him off of it. They had to stop because his blood pressure dropped again. They had to increase the dosage back up to were they started. Shortly after this, his routine morning blood work came back and it showed his calcium was very low. They had to put him on calcium to get those levels back up. Once the calcium gets up then they will try to decrease the Dopamine again. He did some breathing on his own today. He does a little bit everyday. Most of the time he lets the machine do the work for him. They have a tube going down his throat into his stomach now. It is pumping bile out of his stomach. They don't want that sitting in his stomach because it can cause further problems. He is hooked up to all kinds of tubes & machines. The best way to describe how he looks is a little Buddha. He is so swollen that his skin is breaking down. He is getting skin "tares". This is when the skin starts to peel away in areas. It mostly happens in warm small places, such as the arm pits. He has them in other places too. He is also having trouble with blisters forming. They are treating these is Neosporin. We also have been putting Aquaphore all over him. It is like Vaseline. It helps to protect his skin. He had a lot of visitors today. Heath brought Kasey & Zack up to see him. They were bugging him to bring them up since Tuesday. Leanne & Lois came to see him as well. Penny & "Aunt" Janet came too. Penny is Collin's babysitter. Janet is her sister. Grandmother & Grandfather & Aunt Sissy came as well. I am sure it did him some good to hear all of their voices. That is all I have for today. Thank you for all of your continued support and prayers.
