Day 3

Collin had a busy day yesterday. He was still not responding so the doctors ordered to have an MRI done with contrast. They had not used contrast in his previous MRIs of the brain because his kidneys could not filter it out. They decided that he would go on a different type of dialysis for 4 hours after the MRI to make sure it all got out of his system. We still have not seen a lot of reduction in swelling. He had the MRI done and a spinal tap. Both came back normal. That was great news. The doctors were concerned because he was not being response or waking up. He also received two platelet transfusion. He has been having trouble keeping his platelets up. He did well today. The great news is that when the nurse was cleaning out his mouth, he wrinkled his forehead. It was great!! Kasey & Zack also came up. They spent the night with me last night at the Ronald McDonald House. Heath stayed in Collin's room to allow some alone time with the kids.
